Our Old Mill Heritage Day was chosen, by the committee for the 75th Anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, to be part of their year long celebration. We were one of 100 local events in TN and NC that were selected to be included in their calendar of events that you must see, which honor the traditions of the folks who once inhabited the area now known as the most visited National Park in the country. The Park Service sent representatives to inform guests about the history of the park.

This weekend we celebrated our 6th Annual Heritage Day at the Old Mill Square. The day was filled with the smells, sights and sounds of an Autumn day! From 10am - 5pm we celebrated and honored traditions of the past with craftersand demonstrations ranging from making pottery, just as we do at our Pigeon River Pottery, and grinding corn with free guided tours of our historic Old Mill, to piecing together a quilt and making hammered tin ornaments. We offered fried green tomatoes, fried cornbread and soup beans, pulled pork bbq and the best hotdogs you have ever eaten (really, they are that good!). There was music and games for kids and kids of all ages, a huge farmers market, antique cars, tractors and engines. We were also part of the year long celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! Here are a few pictures of the days events. Employees of the Old Mill Square are doing great things to support our Relay For Life of Sevier County. Our Old Mill Team is sponsoring Friday lunches for employees each week, hosting a Relay Breakfast for our guests on April, 23rd, and we even have an entry for the annual Womanless Beauty Contest!
Come out on May 1st & 2nd for 24 hours to Celebrate, Remember & Fight Back against cancer, at Patriot Park, here in Pigeon Forge, TN.
